ADT chooses The Rainbow Centre as charity of the year

Fareham-based Applied Driving Techniques (ADT) has selected The Rainbow Centre to be its charity of the year for 2015. A leading provider of fleet compliance and risk management solutions, the company will link up with the charity to promote awareness and raise more than £3,000 to fund activities for children that attend the Centre.

ADT will undertake a number of fundraising events throughout the year to support The Rainbow Centre, which helps children with cerebral palsy and adults with MS, Parkinson’s, stroke and head injury to live life to the full using conductive education. In particular, Andy Phillips, Director of ADT, is planning to run three marathons this year, while five employees have already volunteered to complete The Great South Run in October.

The initial target is to fund a family-day for the 50 children who attend the Centre, ranging from one year olds to teenagers. It will be held at Paultons Park, the family theme park and home of Peppa Pig World in the New Forest, Hampshire, providing a much-needed day out for the children, siblings and parents.

We rely heavily on the generosity of local people and businesses to transform the lives of people suffering from effects of cerebral palsy, MS, Parkinson’s, strokes and head injuries.”

“Conductive education offers a unique system of learning which is effective in training undamaged parts of the brain to take control of motor functions previously managed by the areas of the brain which no longer work. Therefore, it provides an excellent way of helping sufferers improve their daily lives.”
