Narrow Aisle, a leading manufacturer of very narrow aisle (VNA) materials handling equipment, has extended its contract with Ctrack, an Inseego company, for the provision of an advanced telematics solution. Under the three-year deal, the company will continue using the web-based Ctrack Online vehicle tracking system to monitor a fleet of vans used by its nationwide network of service engineers.

Narrow Aisle has gained added visibility and control over its fleet operation since adopting Ctrack Online, supporting its commitment to customer service while ensuring vehicles are operated in an efficient and responsible way. The simplicity and functionality of the vehicle tracking system has meant that it has become an important management tool for the company’s service team, based at its head office in Tipton, West Midlands.

Ctrack Online is being used by service operators to identify and deploy the most appropriate engineer for an incoming job based on location, status and availability. This is helping Narrow Aisle to provide the highest levels of support for its range of Flexi AC articulated fork lift trucks, improving response times and avoiding any unnecessary downtime for its customers. Real-time data can also be communicated direct to customers to provide accurate ETAs or warn of any unexpected delays.

The fleet reporting package is providing Narrow Aisle with a clear overview of key performance data, so it can effectively review activities and examine any unexpected variances. The company is taking advantage of a host of reports to verify working hours, measure productivity and monitor driver behaviour to target road safety improvements and ensure operational costs are kept under control. Meanwhile, incident reconstruction has been used to investigate and gain greater insight into any accidents or alleged driving incidents.

Martin Simpson, Service Manager at Narrow Aisle Ltd commented: “Ctrack Online has become an incredibly useful tool for the business, providing clear service, efficiency and safety benefits. The user-friendly nature of the system makes it simple and straightforward, while the advanced functionality delivers impressive operational insight and business intelligence. The team at Ctrack is also always available to answer our queries or give advice, so we are very pleased to extend the partnership for a further three years.”

Steve Thomas, Managing Director of Ctrack said: “Ctrack Online is a proven vehicle tracking system that combines the highest levels of usability and functionality to deliver business and operational benefits to fleets. As a result, we are successfully attracting and retaining a growing number of companies that are looking to make the most of their vehicle operations.”
