Intelligent Telematics recognised at Fleet Safety Awards

Intelligent Telematics’ commitment to improving road safety has been recognised by the charity Brake. The leading provider of 3G vehicle camera solutions was highly-commended at the annual Fleet Safety Awards for the introduction of its Safety League Table, a sophisticated reporting tool that enables fleet operators to monitor the best and worst performing drivers within their operations.

The Safety League Table is the first reporting solution of its kind that combines both driver behaviour data along with footage of collisions, near misses and harsh driving events to provide a complete picture of how vehicles are being operated. It uses GPS, accelerometer and video data taken from the IT1000 3G vehicle camera to rank drivers using a unique points based system. This is supported by a range of up to 15 key driving parameters that cover all aspects of speeding, acceleration, braking, cornering and idling.

Sam Footer, Head of International Business & Strategic Development at Intelligent Telematics commented: “This commendation acknowledges our position at the forefront of the 3G vehicle camera sector, driving innovation to help companies achieve the highest levels of road safety. The Safety League Table adds a new dimension to driver behaviour monitoring, because it provides insight beyond simply logging driving events and allows fleet operators to find out exactly why and how an incident has occurred. This enables them to implement or support targeted driver performance and training programmes.”

Graham Hall, European Logistics Manager, Air Products said: “The Safety League Table is such an important aspect of our overall telematics and 3G vehicle camera solution because it provides added insight into the performance of our employees when they are on the road. The highly sophisticated scoring provides an excellent way of ranking the drivers to identify areas of improvement, which can then be backed up with actual video footage of events that can be used in individual driver communications and training courses. As a result of the trial, we will be rolling out the solution across more than 250 vehicles operating in the UK and more in Europe.”

The winning and the highly commended organisations were announced at a prestigious ceremony held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, which was attended by more than 350 business leaders and industry professionals.
